Ready to stay motivated through the year?

Ready to reconnect with your writing practice?

Ready to stop letting fear keep you from following your passion?

It all starts here

Hi, I’m Claire Taylor, an author of over 40 books, and a story and career coach for authors like you. I quit my salaried job in 2015 and found a way to make this fiction thing work, selling hundreds of thousands of copies of my mysteries and humor novels. I’ve fallen in and out of love with fiction, hit burnout, and recovered from it over the years, and all that toil inspired me to learn new skills and develop individualized systems to keep other authors from facing the same.

I’ve built my coaching around the Enneagram framework, which helps each person get to the bottom of what actually motivates them (not what they feel “should” motivate them), allowing them to tackle their core fear and pursue their core desire in healthy and sustainable ways.

The Enneagram Framework

THE 9 TYPES

Which of the 9 types are you?

There’s a good chance you’ve seen or heard about the Enneagram before. It’s been picking up popularity on social media these last few years. But it’s so much more than a meme! The richness and insight we can unlock from learning about our type is something I haven’t found anywhere else.

THE 9 CORE FEARS

Which core fear is keeping you from your writing?

If the Enneagram wasn’t the best framework I’ve found to help authors build aligned and motivating careers, I wouldn’t be using it. I’m not here to waste anyone’s time, including my own.

But it works. I know that because I’m an Advanced Certified Instructor of the Enneagram Spectrum of Personality Styles and an Accredited Practitioner of the Integrative Enneagram. I live and breathe this stuff.

Not only has it saved my career, it’s improved every facet of my life.

What’s your type?

“Get to the good part,” you say. “Tell me how to find my type so I can use it for my writing!”

There are all kinds of free and paid Enneagram tests online, so you’re free to start there. But…

…if you land on a type that makes sense for you, you’re left going, “What now?”

…sometimes your top score doesn’t feel right, and you’re left to question the whole thing.

…and sometimes you see your top score and it makes you want to throw your phone through the wall.

Whether you’re a newbie or you’ve taken a test and want to know more, I have you covered.

Discover your type… and how to use it

This August I’m offering free live calls for authors who are ready to make 2024 the best year of their career.

These free classes are the first step down the path to your ideal author career.

Each call focuses on a single Enneagram type for 45 minutes. We talk the basics, common patterns to spot, and how that type shows up in writing and marketing.

Let's say you've read a little on each of the type and you're torn between whether you're a 4 and 9. You can sign up to both of those calls.

Each call includes:
-A brief primer on what defines the type
-Examples of common traits of the type
-How the type might show up in your writing
-Q&A with me (Claire)

I limit each call to 100 registrants and these often fill up, so be sure to register early.

Grab your seat

Hurry before these free classes fill up:

 30-day replay

"What if I can't make the scheduled time?" I got you. There will be a 30-day replay available for everyone who registers.

Watch the call back at your convenience!

More about the Enneagram

If you’re still not sure what the Enneagram is, here’s the long and short of it:

You are not like everybody else

There’s a reason that you can’t reproduce the success of other authors. If they’re not your Enneagram type, they’re functioning with what’s essentially a different operating system than you have. “If I did it, then so can you” is bullshit, psychologically speaking. It’s just not true. And it’s not because there’s anything wrong with you. You’re simply functioning with fundamentally different patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Writing advice that doesn’t consider your core motivation is not useful advice.

Fear → attention

Most of our waking life, we are functioning on autopilot. And that autopilot operates based on a set of beliefs about what will keep us safe from our core fear.

That means that most of your waking hours are spent avoiding your core fear rather than making conscious decisions that will move you toward the writing life you truly want to create.

When we learn about the Enneagram and our type, we discover the ways our core fear has been hijacking our attention, and then we’re able to be more purposeful with what gets our attention. The first step is learning what that core fear is and seeing the ways it’s been making decisions for you throughout your life. These calls will help you identify that fear or, if you already know your type, see more ways that it’s been in the driver’s seat.

That gives you back control to build the author career you want.
